About

An Edmonton-based composer and santur (Persian dulcimer) player, originally from Iran, Farhad Khosravi is the winner of the 2020 Edmonton Music Prize for his sophomore album Mosàfer – a santur and percussion duo which translates some of the deepest existential Persian poetries into instrumental music.

Farhad has performed in multiple venues and festivals in Edmonton, including Royal Alberta Museum, Winspear Centre, Alberta Culture Days, Mile Zero Dance, Arden theatre, and the Yardbird Suite, and has toured across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC with the award-winning percussionist Daniel Stadnicki.

He is currently recording his third album “The Leopards Who Have Run with Me”, an instrumental musical story-telling experience composed for santur, string quartet, and percussion. The album is set to be release in 2026.
